Community Events at WEP 2015

Our sixth annual Winter Enrichment program (January 11 – 22) is nearly here! For 2015 we have over 100 events, including many with a community focus. Here’s a look at some of the many community events coming this January:

5K Fun Run

January 16
Fancy a nice morning walk, a jog or even a race? Join our annual fun run. You can take part in any way you wish: running, walking, pushing a pram, with friends, with family, or even as a competitive runner! There are prizes for the fastest runners and the best costumes. Register at the harbor sports club desk or by emailing: recreation@kaust.edu.sa

Movies@WEP2015

Assorted dates
In keeping with our principal WEP theme of light we are presenting a wide range of classic and contemporary movies, starting on January 11 with a special presentation of the important early film work ‘Workers Leaving the Lumiere Factory’ and the Oscar winning ‘The Artist’. From documentaries to Hollywood blockbusters, our movie schedule has something for every age and taste.

The WEP 2015 Science Fair

January 18
The Science Fair is a chance for our scientific community to come together and show their work through demonstrations and experiments, from school kids to postdocs and faculty.

Bella Gaia: A closing evening Gala event

January 22
Join us in the auditorium for a stunning final WEP event. BELLA GAIA is an awe-inspiring live multimedia performance fusing stunning NASA visualizations of earth from space with live music and dance from around the world.

I’m disappointed that the 5K will be on a Friday again. Any chance of holding it on a Saturday next year?
