Claims Process Improvement

The Finance Department, together with the Smarter-Better-Faster (SBF) team, has introduced a quicker and much improved claims and reimbursement process.

Through the SBF process, the extensive claims and reimbursement administration process was identified as a system which needed streamlining. Immediate improvements that were introduced included emphasizing the manager’s accountability for day-to-day expenses and better communication on the requirements.

“Together, all the changes resulted in the average time for claims processed to be reduced to two days, with and overall end-to-end process time of around eight days,” says David Black, manager of Finance Operations.

“This team effort and a change to a more customer orientated service is a good example of how our day-to-day business lives can be improved by focusing attention on time-consuming, and often unnecessary, bureaucracy,” concluded Black.
