I am pleased to announce that effective June 1, Chris Sealey will assume the position of Vice President, Community Life, replacing Ms. Trish Hughes, who is retiring.
Chris joined KAUST in 2016 as Director of KAUST Health. During this time, he has been instrumental in building the visibility of the organization and solidifying its position as core to the KAUST community through enhanced engagement, education and awareness campaigns, communication and outreach.
Chris has more than 25 years of experience in a range of management roles, including four years spent in Jeddah as a director for BUPA Middle East. Most recently, he was the general manager for Ramsey Duchy Hospital and Bodmin Treatment Centre in the U.K.
He is an active member of the KAUST community and has been a leader and participant in many events and initiatives aimed at strengthening community life and bringing together our diverse residents.
As we welcome Chris to the new position, I would like to offer my sincerest thanks to Trish as she embarks on her next chapter.
Trish has been with KAUST since 2010, where she started as Vice President for Human Resources. Not only did she guide the strategy and policy of HR, she also helped to create the vibrant and diverse community that makes KAUST so unique.
In 2017, Trish was appointed Vice President, Community Life, a role that was created with the sole purpose of building a community that brings value and life to all residents. In this capacity, Trish oversees the KAUST Schools and daycare, KAUST Health, accommodation, recreation and marine services, retail and food services and transportation.
In her time with us, Trish has made a huge impact on the lives of all community members. I am sure we can all recall a time when we have been personally moved by the great support she and her dedicated team provided to us. For this we remain lastingly grateful, and wish her all the best.
I will personally miss Trish who has been a close and dear friend to me. Together we have gone through many good and rough times and through it all it has been a great honor of mine to have served with Trish on her KAUST journey.
Please join me in congratulating Chris on this exciting new role, and thanking Trish for her years of dedication as she prepares depart in the coming weeks.
Interim President
