King Abdullah Monument
On Thursday, September 5, 2019, KAUST will be celebrating its first 10 years of science, discoveries, education, and the community that has made it happen!
Join us at 6:00 p.m. at King Abdullah Monument for a community celebration. We promise you will be blown away by the breathtaking theatrical performance of the European Phoenix Dancers; a show featuring performers, light and sound special effects. Before this very special show, community band Agrophonics and singers from X-Factor and Arab got Talent will entertain you. Lastly, DJ Panda will groove until the end of the night.
Grab a bite at one of the many food trucks and booths and children will be entertained at the Kids’ Zone: face painting, trampoline bungee jumping, ziplining and much more!

I am looking forward to the 10 year celebration! I’ve been here only three years today! So far, the KAUST experience has been great, fulfilling, made new long-lasting friends, met new work challenges, and this place is far beyond my expectations. Welcome to KAUST, this is home for now.
when will kaust will be hosting community open day again?
Hello Mark, the next Community Open Day will be announced soon on The Lens and the KAUST Community website (https://communitylife.kaust.edu.sa/). Looking forward to seeing you there!
Happy 10th anniversary KAUST, Just a Q.. will there be a bus for the people who lives in Jeddah? you could request a sign up to know the number of people interested in the bus as right now the KAUST bus leave at 5 PM.. Thanks in advance
I would really appreciate it if there would be busses going to Jeddah after the event.
Good news! For people wishing to travel to Jeddah after the event, a Work Haul bus will be departing from King Abdullah Monument park bus area at 10:30 p.m.
Where is the drop off location in Jeddah please ?
It will stop at Rehaily and Habitat – the same as the usual Work Haul bus locations.
will there be any fireworks this year?
Hello LA, the activities can be found in the event description. There will be all sorts of entertainment, including a laser show, though fireworks won’t be part of it. Hope you’ll enjoy the celebration all the same!
I am looking forward to this event but…..please safe our ears and let us talk to friends, keep the music / noise down a little . Thank you
Hi Joanna – Thank you for your feedback regarding the volume of the programming. King Abdullah Monument Park is a large area and there will be various areas of entertainment at the event. We anticipate that the loudest areas will be near the stage, especially during the concerts and performances. However, there will be plenty of space with a more relaxed and conversational atmosphere throughout the venue as well.
will the bus going back to jeddah will have a stop to rehaily ?
Yes, it will stop at Rehaily and Habitat – the same as the usual Work Haul bus locations.
Can the car just drop us at the monument then leave?
Hi Ghada – Only vehicles which are operating in relation to running the event will be permitted onto the access road. Therefore, attendee cars will not be permitted onto the Monument Access Road, even for drop-off. We recommend taking the bus or biking. If you prefer a relatively long walk, a car could drop you at the intersection of Kadi/Gazelle/Monument Access Road.
Do we have to pay for food this year? Because 5 years celebration all the foods was free of charge.
Yes, if you would like to purchase food from the vendors, please bring cash. There will be a wide range of food options to dazzle your taste buds. We have around 10 food trucks and over 20 other food options, including Jeddah restaurants with stands that have never been available at KAUST before.
Please also remember to bring a picnic blanket and water bottle – stations for refilling your water bottle will be available throughout the venue.
Just a few hours to go – Looking forward to seeing you there!
to whom can I end feedback regarding the event?
