Kaustians, stop and think, not down the sink!
What is FOG
Fat, oil and Grease (FOG) come from meats, butter and margarine, food scraps, sauces, salad dressing, dairy products and cooking oils.
FOG is a real pain in the drain! When grease laden water, greasy food scraps and other debris enter the sewer system, FOG can build up on the pipe walls and block flow, causing wastewater to back up and flow into our streets, storm drain or even back into the kitchen. This is called a sanitary sewer overflow.
Read the leaflet to learn about the do’s and don’ts and how you can make a difference starting in your kitchen.

Hi, I received the FOG leaflet yesterday, which is informative and recyclable. But it was accompanied by a fridge magnet and I assume every house on the campus got one too. Who on earth thought this was a good idea? This is so wasteful, I’m very disappointed to see resources being used in this way.
Many of us are trying hard to be as green as possible, but this just cancels out so many individual efforts.
