Arabic coffee is the first beverage offered to any guest in a Saudi home. It is served bitter, together with local dates or sweet pastries, at social gatherings for all occasions, even weddings.
There is a strong connection between coffee and its culture to the Saudi identity, the Saudi society’s interaction with it and its distinctive character, in terms of cultivation, preparation and presentation that is not available in the same way in any other country.
The Ministry of Culture named the year 2022 The Year of Saudi Coffee, to promote Saudi coffee locally and globally as a symbol of Saudi culture and authentic legacy.
Join us in celebrating Saudi coffee and experience a coffee tasting session, with a Saudi coffee expert, who will demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s great cultural diversity through the different methods of preparing and serving Saudi coffee.
Visit our Saudi Coffee Exhibition in the Building 18 Plaza, from Wednesday, December 14 to Friday, December 16. This cultural experience is brought to you by Cultural Heritage Events, Community Life, the Office of Culture, Enrichment and Engagement, and Strategic National Advancement.
