27-28 March 2022
Live Event
We are inviting you to the KAUST Beginner Course on Laser Safety and Laser Technology, organized on 27-28 March 2022 by HSE, in collaboration with LEM and CCRC.
Lasers are becoming increasingly important in the research environment. Many students, post-docs and researchers who use lasers have limited training in the fundamental operating principles of lasers and practical knowledge on how to set optical beam lines.
This course will cover all the basic knowledge required for operators who want to understand better lasers’ operating principles (introduction to laser safety, critical optical components and laser operation) and the various applications of lasers in the research environment. Practical sessions will also help the participants gain confidence in basic laser alignment, learn how to clean optics and select the correct laser eye protection.
Please note:
Spaces are limited. Only the first 24 people registered will be able to complete the practical trainings (hands-on training) and get the full course certificate. Participants after the first 24 can still register and will be able to attend the presentations but they will not be able to participate in the practical trainings (the presentations will take place in the morning). They will be awarded with the HSE Laser Safety Training certificate (certificate available in Salute). The registration deadline is Wednesday March 23, 2022.
To register and to see full details please complete the registration form.
