Amr joined KAUST in 2012 as part of the Lab Design and Development team, then he transitioned to Manager of Operations and Sustainability for Campus Support and was acting Director for one year. Amr has overseen the completion of the Integrated Campus Automation System (ICAS), has driven the energy conservation program and made significant improvements in the operations of the academic laboratory and building systems.
He will be responsible for all operations and maintenance of all academic, research, administrative, and research park facilities which includes those of our key tenant buildings such as Dow, SABIC and Aramco research centers. The other services under his remit include housekeeping, office services and event support services throughout campus.
Amr holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University, a MBA from Baker College and has attended a leadership development program at London Business School.
Amr’s passion for sustainability, continuous improvement, customer centric vision and his approachability will take the services provision to our research operations to a next level.
