A Reminder – Imaging and Active Tectonics of the Red Sea Region Workshop

Tuesday, March 10 – Thursday, March 12

9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily
Friday, March 13
8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Level 0 lecture hall between Al- Jazri and Al-Kindi (buildings 4 and 5)

This workshop is part of ongoing collaborative research efforts in Saudi Arabia in the fields of monitoring and modeling seismic and volcanic activity in the Red Sea region, in imaging Earth structure with new data and advanced imaging methods, and in detailed mapping of faults and fault structures.

Over 40 presentations (talks and posters) will be given over three days, with an estimated number of approximately 70 people attending the workshop, including more than 20 international speakers (from the U.S., the U.K., France, Brazil, South Korea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Yemen, Egypt), along with approximately 30 in-Kingdom participants (from KACST, KSU, KAU, KFUPM and Saudi Aramco), and a large KAUST delegation.

The workshop will review recent results and latest data, and aims at developing an improved understanding of seismicity, seismotectonics, volcanic activity and Earth structure of Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the participants will discuss strategies and avenues for future international collaborative research on these topics, in partnership with Saudi universities and institutions and global research partners.

Hi

Could the program schedule for the workshop be provided so that one could plan on the talks to attend?

Thanks much.
