A Reminder – Records and Information Management Lecture

Monday, February 16
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
University Library, Level 3, Sea view room 3118

Guest speaker: Michael V. DeVanna

This high-level view of records and information management (RIM) will be an interactive session. We will discuss the rewards inherent in the proper management of records and information, and also the risks of improper management.

  • What makes a record a record?
  • What does a comprehensive RIM program actually look like?
  • What do you really have to do in order to “manage” an information asset?
  • Do you want your documents and records to be assets or liabilities?

We will discuss these questions and raise many more.

Michael V. DeVanna is the Records Manager at the Saudi Aramco Law Organization; he is also Chair of the Records and Information Management Advisory Committee in Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts. He has helped design and implement organization-wide records management programs with the Old Dominion Electric Cooperative.

Refreshments will be served.
