If you are planning vacation leave for the summer break, here are a few simple tips to keep your house in good condition and protect your valuables while you’re away:
- To help stop leaks, shut off the water valves and the flexible hoses underneath your kitchen and bathroom sinks.
- To avoid condensation and the formation of mold, leave the air conditioner on auto and set it to 27C (80.6F).
- To prevent flooding if a water leak occurs, ensure that all floor drains are uncovered.
- To avoid condensation, make certain that all doors and windows are closed.
- Lock and secure the roof access.
