TKS are thrilled to invite all KAUST community members to join us for a “Build the Garden” event on Monday, November 28, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Kindergarten campus. The KG campus has over 30 garden beds, which will require the support and hard work of our amazing KAUST community! Due to limited space availability, all registrations are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please submit your interest by completing this form by Saturday, November 19. You will receive a confirmation email from TKS if you have been selected.
Please note this is a work event where there will be garden tools and soil. Only children 10 years and above are allowed to attend and must be supervised by parents the entire time.
Schedule
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. with a brief outline of the event’s activities and rules.
Activities include and are not limited to:
- shoveling & wheelbarrowing
- mixing soil and soil amendments
- filling the garden beds with organic matter & soil
- planting seeds into seed containers and/or garden beds
- making labels
- and plenty more for our friendly green fingers to enjoy!
Tools and preparation
We recommend that you:
- wear work clothes
- bring work/garden gloves
- bring a refillable bottle for water (no plastic bottles!)
- be prepared to work!
NOTE: We have work gloves that we can loan you if you don’t have your own.
