We have an amazing cinema at KAUST and our community club is lucky to be able to make the most of such a wonderful resource.
The Movie Hub welcomes all KAUST community members aged 12 and over. Films are shown in Discovery Square Cinema on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Titles are chosen by Hub members resulting in an eclectic range from mainstream to niche.
Membership fee
Screenings are for members only; the annual membership fee is payable when you attend your first Movie Hub:
- SAR 100 for 18 and over
- SAR 50 for university students and under 18
Fees are used to cover incidental costs including purchasing films, covering visitor speaker costs, and subsidizing travel for any members’ trips.

Club goals
- Provide a venue for the Movie Hub members to regularly screen a diverse range of films
- Promote interest and understanding of cinema and filmmaking through talks, events and screenings
- Provide opportunities for club members to enjoy cinema with enthusiasm, share experiences and participate in the selection and screening of films and topics
- Provide a conduit for members to engage with local or international cinemas, movie clubs, filmmakers and film industries.
- Liaise with KAUST Community Life and other KAUST management as necessary for the provision of Movie Hub facilities and other resources
- Organize Movie Hub social events and fundraising activities including sponsorships
