Government Affairs would like to inform all KAUST community members that the Ministry of Interior (MOI) has launched an electronic version of National identity cards and iqama’s.
The digital versions are available through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic application “Absher Individuals” under the section “Digital ID.”
Here are some of the Digital ID features:
- The Digital ID will allow citizens to present their ID on their smart device in the event that they do not have their ID card with them, through the “Absher Individuals” application
- The Digital ID includes a QR Code, which users can download a copy on to their smart device. This allows users to take advantage of the “Digital ID” without the need to connect to the Internet
- Over time, the Digital ID function will develop to include the processing of electronic transactions for individuals with relevant sectors in the Ministry of Interior using the electronic platform “Absher Individuals”
Download the app to activate your Digital ID
Government Affairs encourage everyone to download the “Absher Individuals” app on to their smart devices and activate their Digital ID.
Download the app in your preferred system IOS/Android and follow the below instructions:
- Download the “Absher Individuals” app.
- Click “Log In,” and enter your Absher user name/ID number and password. When prompted, enter the passcode that is sent to your phone.
- Once logged in, go to “My Services” at the bottom of the screen, then click “Activate Digital ID”
- Check the information added and click “Activate Digital ID.”
Once activated the Digital ID will be ready for use whenever you need it. The QR Code download option is also available.
