The Community Life Transportation Services team is pleased to announce enhancements to the bus schedules. These changes have been created based on community feedback and are designed to offer you extra convenience.
What’s new in the on-campus shuttle services
Effective Sunday, January 22, 2023
Oasis Route: The route will add four new stops to help TKS students reach GES directly without transferring buses. Research Park areas (CMOR, ARAMCO, DOW, and KRTP) will be removed due to low utilization.
Staff working in the Research Park area must transfer to the Palms bus at Bldg. 16 after a 5 to 6-minute wait. Expect a 10-minute wait in Tamimi on the way back to Oasis, as with the other routes.
Palms Route: The old route will be returned excluding Bldg. 18 and KAUST Health while adding the Research Park area. The route will go straight to Bldg. 16 from the Palms area. The Palm bus will not serve areas near the Research Park after 4:00 p.m. The last stop will be at Bldg. 14, and the bus will go straight to Tamimi and then back to Palms neighborhood.
Support Bus to KRTP area: There will be a designated bus covering Bldg. 16, CMOR, DOW, ARAMCO, and the Research Park every hour from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. going straight to the Palms and the Oasis areas.
What’s new in the off-campus bus services
Effective February 3, 2023, & as a pilot for one month.
Extra Morning buses to Red Sea Mall and Mall of Arabia:
An extra bus to the Red Sea Mall and Mall of Arabia will be added every Friday morning in addition to the afternoon bus. This bus will leave KAUST at 10:30 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m.
- Red Sea Mall on February 3 and 17
- Mall of Arabia on February 10 and 24
Reduced Balad trips
The number of Balad trips will be reduced to one per week every Friday.
Bus to Tahlia Street area
A new bus route to serve the Tahlia Street area is added every Thursday evening. The bus will stop at Jeddah International Market (JIM), one of the oldest malls in Jeddah. The mall and areas around it are popular destination for shopping and restaurants along Tahlia street. There are always taxis available at JIM to get to other local destinations in the area.

Dear Sir,
I am working in KRTP and live in Oasis. Now, with the new system, I took 40 min in the morning to arrive from oaisis to KRTP and same time for the one way for the lunch. Really this new system is not working for me.
I request you to arrange new bus (research express) as per the following schedule or make the on-demand bus for the KRTP employee only.
Bus from Kaust health to KRTP directly
8:35, 8:55, 9:15, 9:35 am
Bus from KRTP to Tamimi directly
12:46, 1:06, 1:26 pm
Kindly consider this request as soon as possible as we suffering from this new bus schedule.
