Kyle Hooper received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he studied the interactions of prolactin with its receptor using techniques like cellular proliferation assays, protein expression and molecular biology. Prior to joining Promega, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the microbiology department.

Hooper studied the interaction of diphtheria toxin with its receptor, heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor, using techniques like site-directed mutagenesis, transfection and cell-based toxicity assays. Hooper has been with Promega since 1996 with roles in technical support, technical training, product development and global market support specializing on the cellular analysis and proteomics product portfolios.
