Celebrate World Intellectual Property Day During Enrichment in the Spring

World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated around the world each year on April 26. Its purpose is to facilitate discussions and promote awareness of the impact of IP on our societies, economies and lives.

To celebrate this April’s World IP day, KAUST Innovation and Economic Development, and Enrichment in the Spring will host a range of events, from a keynote lecture and two-day symposium, to a showcase of the great innovations being made here at KAUST.

We’ll start on April 26 with an IP Symposium “Intellectual Property: Towards a Better Economy.” For two days we’ll host speeches and panel sessions presented by IP experts and thought leaders from around the world, including Anatole Krattiger of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Thomas Skalak of the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and Ashley Stevens of Focus IP Group.

On day two of our symposium, Boeing’s Vice President of Intellectual Property Management Peter L. Hoffman joins us for a keynote “Driving Innovation through Global Technology Collaboration.”

Hoffman will look at Boeing’s strategy of working closely with technology partners throughout the world, highlighting how the company determines where to create intellectual property and how successful partnerships are created and grown.

We’ll also look to the great work being on campus and in our community with a special KAUST Technology Showcase. You’ll be able to see a wide range of innovative works being produced within the KAUST ecosystem up close, from the labs to startups to our schools. You will be amazed and inspired.
