The Angklung is a traditional Indonesian musical instrument made of bamboo tubes, attached to a frame. Each Angklung has a specific pitch that can be produced by shaking the Angklung and each member of the ensemble creates one or two pitches. Playing the notes together creates a song with harmonies. All musical levels are welcome and Angklung Ensemble conductor Burhannudin Sutisna, a Ph.D. candidate, will teach all newcomers. Weekly rehearsals begin on Sunday, February 14 from 7:15 – 8:30 p.m. in the Auditorium (bldg. 20).
