KMC Flu Season Information

The KAUST Medical Clinic’s successful free flu vaccination campaigns have vaccinated approximately 2,000 community members against influenza. The influenza vaccine provides protection against H1N1 influenza (swine flu) and two other strains of influenza for this season. In our population over 6,000 residents, a greater proportion of vaccinated residents would lead to lower disease transmission in our community.

We are aware that the Ministry of Health is currently running flu vaccination campaigns, and would like to remind you that if you have already had a flu vaccination for this winter season, you do not need an additional flu shot. In fact, taking an additional flu shot in a single winter season can have serious side effects. Please check with your family physician if you are uncertain.

If you have not had a flu shot this season and would like to be immunized, please make an appointment with Family Medicine at KMC. You can make an appointment by:

  • Phone: 940 from a landline or 012 808 0940 from a mobile
  • Online: H-Connect system (Register at KMC to use this service)
  • Stopping by the clinic.

A no-show fee of 100 SAR applies for unattended appointments. For any questions or feedback, please email patient-relations@kaust.edu.sa, call 012 808 4088 or visit http://medical.kaust.edu.sa.
