Don’t miss your chance to participate in KAUST’s unique community competition!
The third annual Saudi Art Competition will take place in January 2016 as part of the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP).
The competition is a unique opportunity for members of the KAUST community to present artwork that helps honor and celebrate the culture, heritage, places, people, rich history and traditions of Saudi Arabia.
This year’s categories include:
• Calligraphy
• Ceramics artwork
• Drawings
• Jewelry
• Mixed media
• Paintings
• Photography
• Sculpture
Entries can be submitted between Sunday, December 13 to Thursday, December 31 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. daily. The venue for submissions is room 2068, Auditorium (bldg. 20).
There will be an opening ceremony on Sunday, January 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium (bldg. 20). From January 10 to January 18, eligible pieces will be exhibited for public display and community voting.
Artwork will be evaluated on a range of criteria, including subject matter, authenticity and approach. A panel of KAUST community volunteers will serve as judges. Accepted pieces will be exhibited and transformed into postcards, with proceeds benefitting social responsibility projects in Thuwal.
