Due to essential maintenance work, the ladies’ swimming pool at the Harbor Recreation Club will be closed from Sunday, November 1 to Sunday, December 6 inclusive. The ladies’ gym will still be available for use along with both ladies’ gyms at the Island Recreation Club and the campus ladies’ gym.
The ladies’ gym will be available for use, but construction workers will be in the area. For women who would prefer to exercise undisturbed, please use the ladies’ gyms in the Island Recreation Club or the campus ladies’ gym.
Access to the campus gym is via the campus Diner lifts. Exit and turn right and follow the walkway up to the left.

Since the closure is such a long time (almost 5 weeks) will you be arranging women only swim hours at the harbour main swim area? I would highly recommend that you look into this. Thanks.

Yes, please allow at least half-day swimming time for women only either in Harbor or Island centers.

Thank you for your comment regarding the closure of the female only pool for essential maintenance work.
We did look at the possibility of arranging some female only swimming hours but unfortunately this is logistically very difficult for a number of reason including the open plan nature of the main swimming pool area. Please do not hesitate to contact me on 8085145 if you wish to discuss further.

There will be always some maintenance work at some point in time also in the future. Have you thought of putting vertical blinds similar to the one in female gym in the IRC. It is a very good solution to women to whom HRC is more convenient. 1 month plus of pool closing is really very long. Kindly think of arranging something in HRC.

Please note it is not possible to do female only sessions at the HSC Pool or IRC pool due to the layout of the area. For example we have the bowling alley overlooking the pool the apartment blocks over looking the pool and also tennis courts etc etc over looking the pool. The maintenance work is major and this is why it is taking sometime but we are pushing the contractors to complete as quickly as possible.
