Opening Night Extravaganza

We officially kick off our program with a marine-themed opening night extravaganza at the University Library, which will be transformed into a large interactive underwater habitat. The event will bring KAUST researchers and artists together with world experts on marine megafauna. It will also feature coral and touch tanks exhibitions, posters and videos about large marine animals, art installations, live music, a cocktail reception and much more.
Opening remarks will be made by President Jean-Lou Chameau, followed by an introduction to our inspiring and exciting week led by Marie-Laure Boulot and Prof. Carlos Duarte.
Everyone is welcome, and there’s plenty for both adults and kids to enjoy.
