Be a Mentor for the TKS Community Conference

TKS Invites all members of the KAUST community

As the capstone project for The KAUST School, Grade 8 students will hold one-on-one conferences with mentors from our KAUST community. These students have been collecting, curating, and developing the story of their learning from across their time in middle school. They have accumulated evidence about their interests, passions, strengths, accomplishments, and challenges. We are looking for caring adult mentors to engage these young people in conversations and to provide compassionate listening and helpful advice.

The commitment from our community conference mentors is to sign up for one to two mentorship conversations between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19. Each mentorship conversation will be approximately 20 minutes long, with an additional 10 minutes for mentors to share written feedback and reflections with their mentee students. The conference will take place in the Halls located in Building 19 on the KAUST University campus.

All mentors are also required to attend an orientation session on Tuesday, May 12, from 12:30 -1:30 p.m. in Building 19. At this session we will detail the format of the conference and provide essential advice on how to listen to and mentor adolescents.

To volunteer as a mentor for this event, submit the form linked here by May 6. The form asks for your areas of interest and expertise so we can pair you with a student with similar interests and aspirations. Thank you for your interest and generosity in helping guide a young person toward their best future.
