HSE Road Safety update: The Road System around The KAUST School

The project to implement the new road system surrounding The KAUST School (TKS) is now complete and the system is in use. In a previous post, we shared the enhancement goals and changes to the road system around TKS. The purpose of this post is to share an update on the new signage and to remind road users of what they can do to Keeping KAUST Safe while we adapt to the new road system.

Actions for all road users

  • Be extra alert and patient when using the new traffic patterns.
  • Be careful not to damage bollards that are used to create dedicated cycle lanes.
  • Use alternative routes to get to your destination, if possible. Be aware that driving an alternative route may take longer but will be safer.
  • Consider an alternative form of transportation other than cars when taking your children to/from TKS.
  • Do not exceed the speed limit of 30km/hour during school operational hours (weekdays 7:30am – 3:15pm. Tuesdays have an earlier finish at 2:15pm).

Please pay attention and follow the roadway signs, including those posted at the road intersections connecting the road system around TKS.
