Water Supply FAQs

When will the University re-open?
The University will re-open on Monday, November 3. On Monday, classes will resume and regular business will recommence. To assist with this preparation, all people at the manager level and above are expected to return to work on Sunday, November 2. A number of staff essential to the return to normal operations will be required to come to work on Sunday. Managers will contact respective employees. If you do not hear from your manager by this evening, please make contact to confirm your work arrangements for Sunday. Faculty who are interested in the restart process for their labs should refer to a communication that has been sent directly to them by the Vice President for Research. Graduate students were sent an email from the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

When do graduate students return to classes?
Graduate students who are on campus should not return to their offices or labs until Monday morning unless requested to do so by their professor/advisor to help in the restart process. With classes resuming on Monday morning, all students who left campus during this interruption should return to campus by Sunday.

When will children return to school and daycare?
The KAUST School and the Daycare will resume on Monday, November 3.

What should I do with all my bottled water?
You can of course keep all the bottled water to use as needed.

What should I do if I see a leak or a broken water system?
If you notice a leak or see a break in the water system, please report it immediately by calling 959.

When does irrigation resume?
F&C will return to normal irrigation procedures over the next few days.

Are there any restrictions for inviting guests to KAUST?
On Sunday, we will return to normal visitor procedures.

How safe is the tap water for making tea/coffee now that it’s mixed with externally supplied water?

We’re not allowed to bring a kettle in and use bottled water due to Health & Safety regulation.
