Daily Tips for Healthy Living

(from familydoctor.org)

  • Stay positive and motivated: change is never easy but with little planning, patience, and positive attitude, your lifestyle can become healthier every day.
  • Do things to promote good sleep: keep to a regular sleep routine, avoid naps, don’t stay awake in bed more than 5-10 minutes, don’t watch TV or read in bed, avoid cigarettes, caffeine or other things that interfere with sleep, exercise regularly (before 2:00 p.m.) and have a quiet, comfortable bedroom.
  • Keep your mind sharp as you age: try variations of games, puzzles, and new cooking recipes. Work something new into your routine each day. Take on a completely new subject: volunteer, take a new class, or try learning a different language.
