Women in Biology Roundtable

Women in Biology Roundtable
12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Seaview area, level 2, University Library
A light snack will be served prior to the lecture. Come early to get your gift.

Come along and engage with four scientists in a roundtable discussion led by Bettina Berger, scientific director of the Plant Accelerator at the Australian Plant Phenomics Facility. The roundtable will feature KAUST professors Jasmeen Merzaban and Peiying Hong, and Ashwag Albukhari, assistant professor of medical oncology at King Abdulaziz University, who are all involved in different areas of biology research, including molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology and plant science. They will share their job experiences and provide insight into their personal triumphs and struggles as they have built successful and meaningful careers. General challenges of being a woman in the biological sciences field will also be discussed.

During lunchtime at the Campus Diner, the Student Green Group will launch their campaign against food waste. Participate in the ‘leftover challenge’ and be in with a chance of winning prizes.
