Volunteer Rescue Team

Dear community,

With the outdoor activities and off-roading season just around the corner, KAUST 911 would like to share precautions, steps, and measures before heading out, as well as some tips about what to do in case your vehicle gets stuck in the sand.

Before heading out:

  • Check out the weather conditions and avoid any possible heavy rain or sandstorms.
  • Conduct a quick checkup for your vehicle (tire pressure and condition, radiator coolant, fuel, general mechanic condition).
  • Familiarize yourself with the area you are visiting.
  • Check your cellphone battery and reception.

Got stuck? Here is what to do:

  • Call KAUST 911/ 012 808 0911.
  • Provide a brief explanation about your situation (your location, what exactly is going on, how many people are with you, any medical condition, and/or whatever the 911 operator asks you).
  • 911 will ask you to share your location via WhatsApp.
  • A KAUST Volunteer Rescue Team member will show up to help.
