University Library Training Classes

Throughout the spring semester, the University Library will host a variety of training classes designed to help members of the community get the most from the library’s wide array of information resources and to aid students in achieving success with their studies. University Library Specialists will present the following library skills classes, which are open to all who are interested:

  • Building Better Search Strategies
  • Detecting the Mysterious World of Patents
  • Effective Literature Search: A Primer
  • Unlocking Theses and Dissertations
  • Exploring Web of Science and Scopus
  • Business Databases
  • Synthesizing Chemistry with SciFinder and Reaxys
  • Life Sciences Research with Biosis and PubMed
  • EndNote
  • EDecoding the ACM Digital Library
  • Searching SIAM E-Journals and E-Books
  • A Trip to Engineering Village

In addition to sessions by the library staff, the Computational Bioscience Research Center offers “Linux Bootstrap!”, a session to help users better employ the University’s research computing resources. The Office of Graduate Affairs’ Skills Lab will also offer a series of Thesis Clinics in the University Library that are open to graduate students.
