Travel advisory – Changes in UAE visa regulations

Changes in United Arab Emirates Visa Regulation, effective Tuesday, September 1, 2015.

From Tuesday, September 1, GCC residence permit holders are no longer eligible for a visa on arrival and must apply for an e-visa in order to obtain entry into the UAE.

Is this the case for GCC residents who are Passport holders of countries that do not require a visa on arrival in general (i.e. Australia, Austria, Andorra, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Korea, San Marino, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, United States of America, the United Kingdom)?

Any update on Jacqueline’s question? I’m in the same case, I’m in theory in the list of countries whose citizens don’t need to have a visa prior to their arrival in the UAE. Please update us. Thank you,

We have traveled to the UAE since this was implemented and received a visa on arrival.
