TKS Personal Project Community Exhibition

Grade 10 TKS students showcase their fabulous project designs on February 14 at the University spine, outside the library.

What is the Personal Project?

The personal project is an independent research project that gives students the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have acquired over the five-year IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).  It takes place in the students’ final year of the MYP – Grade 10 – and is a significant piece of work, produced over approximately nine months. Students are engaged in rigorous inquiry, research and action to achieve the goals of their own design. They begin by choosing a topic of their choice that is meaningful to them. From this they create a product and write a process report which addresses their goals and builds on specific skills such as critical thinking, communication, self-management, media literacy and research skills. Further development of these skills set students up to work independently to manage themselves more successfully in the IB Diploma Programme, Grades 11 and 12.

Exhibition

The exhibition is a celebration of our students’ work; showcasing their creativity and innovation.  It is an opportunity to share their journey with peers, advisors, family and the wider KAUST community. We encourage you all to talk to the students and inquire about their process on this day.
