This hands-on workshop will delve into the principles of Islamic geometric design, offering participants insight into the symmetry, patterns, and mathematical precision that characterize this unique art form.
Workshop highlights
Participants will create their own geometric artwork while exploring:
- the foundational principles of Islamic geometry, focusing particularly on the iconic twelve-pointed rosette and the concept of tessellation.
- a brief overview of the origins, history, and applications of Islamic art and geometry.
- the cultural and artistic significance of Islamic patterns.
- an introduction to essential tools and techniques in Islamic geometry.

About Yasmine Maktabi
Yasmine Maktabi is a graphic designer and passionate advocate for Islamic geometry. A graduate of The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, she is a seasoned and innovative entrepreneur, promoting Islamic art and design while also being involved in the family business at Iwan Maktabi.
