Superwomen in Science Returns

Saturday, February 17, 2018
University Library
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

For the second year in a row the University and KAUST Schools put in a joint effort to organize “Promoting Super Woman in Science”. On Saturday February 17, 2018 one hundred girls from the fourth to eighth grade assemble at the University Library for a free one-day science extravaganza. Unlike any other science show, it will provide hands-on and minds-on interactive activities to promote these future superwoman into careers in science, technology, engineering, and/or math.

The event is supported by the BESE division and aims to let young girls discover science in an exciting and educative way. During this event Superwomen and professors at KAUST Charlotte Hauser, Ikram Blilou and Niveen Khashab will share stories describing their career paths and their passion for STEM. The afternoon will focus on showcasing some research being done at KAUST in an approachable way.

This event is a unique opportunity to encourage and inspire girls to pursue education in STEM areas and to facilitate relationships with professional women in these scientific disciplines.
