They should have included domestic flights in this! they totally forgot about the Saudi employees travelling every weekend to thier families around Saudi! not fair at all.

Arrangements were made for both international and domestic flights, it is however, Saudi Airlines’ business decision to grant a discount for international flights only.

Hey Claire,
Yes, that is true. I just reserved the ticket and purchased it later for obtaining the discount.

Funny how when I visited they claimed to not have received any word on the discount.

I had also a funny story with them, I wanted to book a trip ticket to Qatar. When they told me about the discount, I was so happy about this news but imagine my feeling when I heard that the discount is 20 ryels !!

Hi Mahdi, for clarification purposes, the minimum discount given is 10% and it is further increased up to 15% depending on seat class. The discount is based on Saudi Airlines’ calculations and with 0% commissions to the agent. If there is an error in the discount calculation, the Travel Office will reimburse any charges.

Please don’t hesitate to contact supportservices@kaust.edu.sa for further clarification.

Also, it is worth mentioning that the arrangement with Saudi Airlines is not only a discount on tickets, but includes other value-added services such as priority booking confirmation (on both domestic and international flights), dedicated call center, and a meet and assist facility on selected destinations. Details are available at the Travel Office. Cheers.
