Riyadh Season Trip report

Government Affairs organized a trip to Riyadh Season Festival during the second weekend of November. A group of 17 explorers took the plane to the Eastern Province to be entertained!  Upon their arrival on Thursday night, the group had dinner at Alqarya Alnajdya restaurant, which specializes in traditional and authentic Arabic cuisine. After the delicious dinner, the explorers headed to Winter Wonderland—a reconstruction of the London theme park— to take a journey in a world of fantasy and delight with endless festive entertainment.

On the second day, the group took one of the most popular desert treks in the region: the “Edge of the World,” located along the Tuwaiq Escarpment. This place is definitely worth a visit because of the spectacular scenery. What makes Edge of the World special is that part of the escarpment has long edges that reach outward from the plateau, and the view from them looks “endless.” Later on, that morning, the group went to Althumamah to enjoy desert activities such as jets riding and driving 4×4 vehicles in the dunes. After lunch, the explorers went to Nabd Alriyadh to immerse themselves in Saudi folklore songs and dance.

On the last day of their expedition, the group visited the Riyadh Al-Zall market, which is considered to be one of the most important historical, touristic and archaeological sites in Riyadh. From a historical perspective, Al-Zall market was and still is the main market for carpets, clothing for men and weapons. Nowadays, it is the most-visited market in Riyadh, and the explorers took this opportunity to browse the many shops to buy souvenirs. They then stopped by the Ritz Carlton hotel for coffee and went to a Japanese restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, the group went to the Boulevard zone, which hosts during the Season Festival a wide range of entertainment and activities, including an outdoor cinema, restaurants, sports demonstrations, music and theatrical events. The explorers took a group picture in front of the musical fountain and toured the zone. The trip came to an end over coffee and sweets at Toqa Café before heading to the airport.
