KAUST is honored to welcome Prof. Dame Sally Davies, the 40th Master of Trinity College, University of Cambridge, for an insightful exploration of how science can underpin both health policy and the delivery of health services.

Abstract

Prof. Dame Sally Davies will explore how to bring science to underpin both policy for, and the delivery of, health and health services. She will use examples from her decades of experience working in and with the English Department of Health and the UK Government to illustrate both challenges and successes.

Dame Sally will explain why and how she established the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to embed science and evidence in services. She will also discuss her role as Chief Medical Officer and her work since in developing national and global policy on antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
