Parade of Nations on March 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Your Community and Country Need YOU!

On Wednesday, March 6, the Parade of Nations stretches out to the whole community. This annual event is being planned by the KAUST Schools and Facilities & Community for the entire KAUST community to celebrate our amazing diversity. The beauty of this event is that it is for all of us. Our hope is that no one watches – we all walk!

NEW for this year:

  1. It’s open to the entire KAUST Community
  2. Starts at 4:30 p.m. at Discovery Square and ends at the Harbor Sports Club Field
  3. Two performance stages will feature international acts following the parade
  4. ‘Country Tables’ will be set up for after the parade

Please click here and consider signing up either as a helper or Country Captain. Joining together we can make this one of the most inspiring, grass roots evenings of the year! When you open the link, click on the second tab, “Nuts and Bolts,” for details.

Why is an event for the entire KAUST community starting at 4.30pm when the majority of us will still be at work?

Greetings,

Last year the same even was arranged at 8 am and it was left to interested employees to make thier own arrangments.

I am confident that your direct management will understand the situation and your desire to attend when you approach them.

Regards.

Can Country Captains bring a radio to play music from that country at the country table? Is it allowed?

Hi David, in the Google Doc (second link in the post), it mentions music among suggested enhancements to the Country Tables. There aren’t power outlets available for the tables, so you would need to plan accordingly.

Please, I registered Slovakia as my country which I want to represent however I didn’t see the Slovak flag hanging on Discovery Square and I also heard that in the “passports” there is no Slovakia. Please let me know ASAP if I should prepare anything for tomorrow or there will be no Slovakia in the Parade of nations.
Thanks.
