The Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) is one of the signature events of the University’s academic year. WEP 2018 is chaired by Professor Omar Knio and is slated to take place over two weeks in January 2018 from Sunday, January 14 to Thursday, January 25 and allows all students to think beyond the borders of their traditional disciplines.
The WEP 2018 theme will be “Human-Machine Future” and will specifically focus on the following three broadly defined topics:
- Sensing (by humans and/or machines)
- Networks (of various kinds, including chemical, biological, power, communication, computer, transportation and social)
- Data (machine and/or sensor-generated)
We will also explore how rapid developments in related fields are shaping a new future for both humans and machines.
Everyone is invited to submit proposals for the 2018 program, which can include formats such as workshops, lectures, keynotes, courses, field experiences and exhibits. Proposals that fall under the identified theme or another are all welcome.
To submit a proposal, visit our site here, which is accessible both on and off campus. The first 50 people to submit a proposal will receive a gift. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, May 14 at 5:00 p.m.
Email us to schedule a proposal appointment if you have any questions about your submission or visit our booth in the Auditorium (bldg. 20), on Sunday, April 16, Monday, April 17, Tuesday, April 18 or Wednesday, April 19 from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. during the Enrichment in the Spring program.
