The Sustainability Office would like to invite you to attend the “Green is Our Mission,” event. There will be various events and activities taking place from Sunday, February 4 to Thursday, February 22 at KAUST.
On February 4, join us at our launch event at Building 20 at 6:00 p.m.! We will present all sustainability activities and initiatives as well as introduce programs that keep KAUST green. Don’t miss your chance to hear live music, sample healthy food and win exciting prizes like an electric scooter or bicycle and more!
Every evening during sustainability month we will host interactive workshops, discussions and competitions including the sustainable gardening workshop, the reducing waste challenge, the chef challenge, a Sci-Café about the science of sustainability and four movie screenings.

This year we have four distinguished keynote speakers speaking over the course of our event:
- David Hobbs – head of research at KAPSARC
- Chris Holmes – senior advisor at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), focusing on environmental protection, humanitarian assistance and international economic development sectors
- Maren Cooke – pollution prevention, local food systems, permaculture, urban farming, sustainable agriculture, and green building expert who has established Sustainability Salons to discuss and find solutions for sustainability
- Sarah Brylinsky – sustainability communications and integration manager at Cornell University where she leads sustainability systems change management projects and strategic communication initiatives
