KAUST Mosques and Taraweeh Prayers

Dear KAUST Community,

On behalf of the Government Affairs team, we wish you a blessed Ramadan. Taraweeh prayers are expected to begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Ishaa and Taraweeh (special night prayers) will be held at the King Abdullah Mosque at KAUST, with both male and female prayer areas available for the KAUST community.

Other KAUST Mosques
During Ramadan, all other KAUST mosques will remain open for daily prayers, except for Ishaa and Taraweeh.

Clarification of prayer timings during Ramadan

  • The time between Maghrib and Ishaa Athan will be 2 hours.
  • The time between the Ishaa Athan and Iqama will be 5 minutes.
  • Ishaa and Taraweeh prayers will take approximately 50 minutes.

Important reminder for Taraweeh attendees

We kindly ask that you consider the tranquility and serenity of the Taraweeh prayers. For the comfort of all, we request refraining from bringing young children who are unable to participate in the prayer, ensuring that everyone can focus and experience this blessed time in peace.

Mosque access

Please be informed that due to ongoing maintenance at the Grand Mosque, the side entrances to the female’s prayer area will be temporarily closed. Female can use the main male’s entrance, where signage will guide them to the left side, leading to the female’s prayer area. male will continue to use the right side. The main female’s entrances, as shown in the image below, will remain open for your convenience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Live Athan broadcast

We are pleased to remind you that the KAUST community can now listen to the live broadcast of the call to prayer (Athan) from the King Abdullah Grand Mosque on their personal devices. This feature is available via the Mosques feature in the KAUSTCentral app, helping you track prayer timings accurately at KAUST.

Thank you for your attention, and we look forward to a peaceful and blessed Ramadan.

Best Regards,
Government Affairs
