Monday – Thursday, May 12 – 15, 2025
The KAUST Imaging and Characterization Core Lab (IAC) and Bruker Arabia have joined forces to present to you the KAUST-Bruker School. We will be offering four parallel courses covering advanced imaging and spectroscopy techniques.
We are particularly happy to collaborate with the Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) on one of our courses this year, enhancing the relevance and breadth of our offerings.
With content tailored for students, researchers and instrumentation operators, each course aims to give theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on experience and insights. You will learn straight from the experts at IAC, Bruker Arabia and the SFDA, who will ensure that you get the most out of this learning experience.

TimsTOF Ecosystem in Biological Mass Spectrometry
May 12-15, 2025
Get familiar with the advantages of the timsTOF technology for biological analysis. In this course, attendees will learn about various sample types, considerations for sample preparation, and analytical methods setup, along with the basics of raw data analysis and interpretation. The course includes interactive lectures coupled with hands-on laboratory training in small groups, focused on proteomics sample preparation. Led by esteemed KAUST Analytical Chemistry Core Lab experts and Bruker scientists, this course offers a unique opportunity for in-depth learning.
Single-Crystal X-ray Diffraction
May 12-14, 2025
Develop foundational knowledge in X-ray crystallography and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. This course combines theoretical lectures with practical sessions on a single-crystal X-ray diffractometer, covering topics such as crystallographic principles, symmetry, structure solutions, and software utilization. Participants will gain hands-on experience with Bruker D8 Venture equipment and data interpretation. This course will be facilitated by KAUST researchers and Bruker engineers.
NMR Metabolomics Applied to Food Authenticity and Bioscience
May 12-14, 2025
Explore the application of NMR spectroscopy in metabolomics with a focus on biosciences and food authenticity. Participants will hear from metabolomics researchers in Saudi Arabia and receive lectures covering both theoretical and practical aspects of NMR. Engaging hands-on training will provide experience in data acquisition, processing, and analysis. Attendees will work in small groups, requiring them to bring their laptops equipped with NMR processing software such as TopSpin and MestReNova. The course will be given by KAUST researchers, and Bruker scientists with special participation from SFDA scientists.
Routine to Advanced Solution-State NMR Applications for Organic Molecule Analysis
May 12-14, 2025
Designed for NMR instrument managers and operators, this course offers practical knowledge for employing solution-state NMR spectroscopy methods to analyze organic molecules. Participants will engage in a combination of lectures and hands-on experiences, focusing on sample preparation, operation of the NMR spectrometer, and data interpretation in small groups. This course will be instructed by experienced scientists from KAUST and Bruker.
