In front of the University Library

March 8 marks an important day around the world: International Women’s Day. On this day, people around the globe celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

International Women’s Day is for everyone—male and female—to make an effort to be inclusive of women all the time everywhere, whether in the organization, in boardrooms or in classrooms. Women in the workplace benefit everyone.

Human Resources supports International Women’s Day, and for that reason we are celebrating together. Join us from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on March 8, 2020, in front of the University Library to join in the festivities. We will have a number of talks delivered by valued women from a range of backgrounds, a Q&A panel, a photo booth, activities, refreshments and music (played by an all-female ensemble). Feel free to bring your lunch, the Q&A Panel will start at 12:00 p.m.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2020 is #EachforEqual. If each person makes an effort to support gender equality, we can create a positive difference for women everywhere.  Do your part to make this a day where the women you interact with feel more recognized, valued and supported.

Show some appreciation to the women in your life!

Whether it’s your mother, grandmother, wife, sister, daughter or a female friend, why not celebrate IWD by making them feel special?

  • Send a message
  • Write a thank you note or a note of encouragement
  • Give a small gift or send flowers
  • Take them out for coffee or lunch
  • Go for a walk together
  • Volunteer to do a task for them
  • Give them a heartfelt compliment

It doesn’t matter if you are a man or woman: We can all show our gratitude and love for the women around us.

We look forward to celebrating International Women’s Day with you!
