We have made some important updates to the KAUST Road Safety Code to help keep our roads safe for everyone on campus, including:
- Traffic Violations Penalty Points System: a new system, which introduces a tiered structure for managing infractions and aligns with national guidelines, is now used.
- E-Scooter Training: Starting January 1, 2026, riders under 16 (Hijri) must complete an online HSE road safety course.
- KAUST Driving Permits: Residents aged 17 (Hijri) without a KSA license can now apply for a golf cart permit.
These updates were developed in collaboration with departments across KAUST to support a safer community. Please review the full Road Safety Code.
