Why visibility on KAUST roads matters
Sunrise and sunset are high-risk times for road use due to reduced visibility and shifting light conditions. Drivers of cars, trucks, buses, and golf carts
- Ensure that your vehicle’s lights are in good working condition.
- Use your vehicle’s headlamps to improve visibility from dusk to dawn, and during the day when raining or visibility is low.
- Turn on headlights in low-visibility areas and conditions, such as when entering or exiting parking lots.
- If your vehicle has tinted windows, be aware that they may reduce visibility for both pedestrians and other drivers.
Pedestrians and joggers
At night or in low-visibility conditions, wear reflective clothing or gear to remain visible to other road users. Avoid wearing dark-colored clothing.
Alternative modes of transport (Motorcycles, bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters)
- These vehicles must have a working white light on the front and a working red light at the rear when used at night or in poor visibility.
- Wear reflective clothing and avoid dark-colored clothing to improve your visibility to other road users.
