The improper disposal of used cooking oil by pouring it down drains and sinks can lead to plumbing and environmental problems. Recycling the used oil ensures that the oil is not wasted while avoiding harming the environment and supporting the circular economy.
KAUST Facilities Management now offers a used cooking oil recycling service for KAUST residents. You can request a dedicated container by contacting the FM call center at (0)12 808 0959. Our used cooking oil recycling service will ensure that used cooking oil is processed responsibly and not wasted.
Residents can choose to have the container collected, or to drop the container off at the waste transfer station in KAUST if they prefer.
Even our retail establishments at KAUST are actively participating in this program.
The Facilities Management’s Waste Management Service collaborates with local recycling partners to repurpose used cooking oil, converting it into valuable products such as biodiesel.
