Mark your calendars! HSE Awareness Week: Together Keeping KAUST Safe is happening September 7–11 with interactive activities, expert speakers, and hands-on learning for the whole community.
Here’s what to look forward to:
- Nature walk at Safaa Golf Club: Explore KAUST’s unique biodiversity on a guided golf cart tour. Discover pollinators, safe vegetation management and healthy water habitats and see how safety and nature go hand in hand. Seats are limited, so register early!
- VR fire extinguisher training: Practice your skills in a safe, immersive way.
- Community first aid: Gain confidence to respond i emergencies and provide basic life-saving care at home, at work or in the community.
- Expert speakers: Join in person or online to hear about psychological health, hyperbaric chambers and medicine, food safety, road safety, workplace health, dive safety, and more.
- ThermoFisher booths: Explore the latest personal protective equipment and safety supplies along the campus Spine.

How you can support our safety culture
A strong safety culture is a shared responsibility. Here’s how you can contribute during HSE Awareness Week and throughout the year:
- Managers: Dedicate time with your teams to discuss safety topics and review lessons learned from past incidents to help prevent future ones.
- Everyone: Take this week to look at your daily environment, at work and at home. Identify and address hazards, join the events, and keep the safety conversations going.
