Biography of Sonny Vu:
Sonny Vu is the founder and CEO of Misfit Wearables, makers of the award-winning Shine, and other highly wearable computing products. He is also the founder of AgaMatrix, makers of the world’s first iPhone-connected hardware medical device. Vu built AgaMatrix from a two-person startup to shipping 15+ FDA-cleared medical device products, 1B+ biosensors, and 3M+ diabetes glucose meters. He also worked at Microsoft Research on machine learning/linguistic technologies. Vu studied math (BS) at UIUC and linguistics (PhD) under Noam Chomsky at MIT. He believes an era of wearable computing is coming soon where UX design will be geared towards glance-able displays and non-visual modalities.
