After a weekend full of activities, including the Film Festival “Pioneers through the Ages” and the community project around the art workshop “Pioneering Plastic Painting,” the Opening Night will launch three days of exceptional events in the Conference Center (building 19) and the Auditorium (building 20). Don’t miss it: register now!
The Saudi singer Abdulrahman Mohammed will be accompanied by three musicians from Tunisia (Ghassen Fendri, Omar Kasraoui and Skander Ben Abid) and will perform different acoustic music styles combined with Arabic heritage love lyrics and poems as well as well-known Arabic covers in his improvisational jazz style.
- The Celebrate Saudi Arabia Art Competition is an opportunity to see the country through the eyes of KAUST community members; more than 50 works of art will be on display in the Conference Center (building 19).
- Exploring the Empty Quarter: a sample of the Wilfred Thesiger collection from the Pitt Rivers Museum in the Auditorium’s (building 20) lobby. Photographs will be available for sale. Make sure you visit the exhibition.
- 1000 Days at KAUST showcases a timeline of the different construction stages that transformed bare desert land to one of the world’s youngest universities.
Don’t forget to bring your Film Festival pass stamped (you need to see at least three movies) to get a chance to win a restaurant voucher.
Keynote speakers’ books will be available for sale.
