WEP Unveiling Event for New Students

All KAUST students need to attend the WEP 2018 mandatory event. Here, students will learn more about WEP credits, the stimulating and enriching courses, lectures and workshops we’ve been preparing for you. Don’t forget to register online.

Webinar – Peer-to-peer Mentoring and Building a Developmental Network

At 3:00 p.m., our ‘Women in Science’ webinar will kick off. Led by mentoring relationships expert Wendy Murphy, female scientists will acquire skills on how peers can help you and how you can help your peers to build a developmental network. To attend, register online before 2:00 p.m.

Sci-Café – How Can We Engineer Tomorrow Through Science and Design

Join the conversation on how KAUST faculty are designing tomorrow with their research. Speakers include KAUST Professors Jesper Tegnér, Sigurdur Thoroddsen and Deanna Lacoste. The event will be introduced by Professor Gilles Lubineau and moderated by John F. Tannaci.

Participate in the KAUST Facebook Live Streaming and Q&A. Ask questions, discuss science and have fun!

The Science and Art of Invention, keynote lecture by Ann Makosinski
5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Auditorium (bldg. 20)
Ann Makosinski is a 20-year old student and inventor featured in Forbes and Times 30 under 30, Intel and Google Science Fair Winner. Ann will talk about her first “inventions” at an early age, her first science fair, what inspired her to create her inventions, patents, and the difference between an inventor and an entrepreneur.

A cocktail reception will take place before the keynote lecture from 5:00 p.m.
