Enrichment in the Fall Concerts

The KAUST Community is invited to attend three special classical concerts as part of the upcoming Enrichment in the Fall program. Over a three day period October 19-21, The Amici String Quartet will host and perform a Family Concert, an Evening of Classics, along with a Lunchtime Concert. The The Amici String Quartet are: James Park (violin), Jonathon Park (violin), Wendy Keyes (viola) and Larissa Koehler (cello). The quartet will introduce their string instruments in a lecture/demonstration format, and then discuss the pieces they will perform.

Family Concert
Sunday, October 19, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
University Library

The Amici will be joined by members of the Community Orchestra in a special performance of “The Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns, with KAUST soloists, Melanie Agustina, flute; Wiebke Wackerow, clarinet; Eduardo Regula, xylophone; David Keyes, piano; and Library Director, Molly Tamarkin, narrator.

Children are encouraged to attend the “Family Concert” with their parents.

Evening of Classics
Monday, October 20, 8:00 – 9:15 p.m.
Auditorium (building 20)

This concert will feature a full-length string quartet by W. A. Mozart, one movement of a string quartet by Ludwig van Beethoven, and the first movement of Robert Schumann’s “Piano Quintet” with TKS Performing Arts teacher, Eduardo Regula.

Lunchtime Concert
Tuesday, October 21, 2014, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Auditorium (building 20)

The musical variety of composers and siblings, Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn, will be explored in this concert as well the first movement of Maurice Ravel’s string quartet.
